The Future is Equitable: A data-driven approach to Health Care
Using data to address social determinants of health and achieve organizational and community goals

Join us for this talk in UNC Greensboro’s esteemed Harriet Elliott Lecture Series.

Andy Hiles is the Vice President of Plan Sponsor Insights and Health Equity Solutions at Aetna. He leads a team of over 150 professionals in the development of health plan performance analytics. His responsibilities include Aetna’s approach to improving health equity among commercial plan sponsors by applying new analytics to engage employers as partners in addressing social determinants. Hiles is also a visiting instructor at the University of Notre Dame.

For nearly two decades, Hiles has been a leading advocate for employers, insurers and providers to apply the lens of health equity in support of low-income workers and people of color covered by commercial health plans. His early writing on this topic correctly predicted today’s emerging trend of infusing DE&I concepts into the design and administration of employer-sponsored health plans.

Under his leadership, in 2019, Aetna delivered the first at-scale health plan analytics tool enabling commercial plan sponsors to see the impact social determinants have on the health of at-risk workers.

This event is free and open to the public.
